Rita is a self-taught artist from Russia, born in 1989. She has a double culture Russian and Syrian, she arrived in France in 2011. She studied Art History at the prestigious University of la Sorbonne Paris. There she started to develop her aesthetic tastes and preferences. She obtained her Master Degree studying Greek Art from Antiquity. Now for Mickaël Marciano galleries exclusively she showed for the first time her first series. She is undeniably an artist of her time.
She takes inspiration from neat and beautiful pictures seen on the well displayed Instagram feeds. Her rapidity of execution allowed by the technique of acrylic on canvas echoes the “caught live” vibes of the shared images spread on social Media. This first series Rita delivered us find her references in Edward Hopper’s work. Therefore, the moments when people wait, the moments of boredom and quiet she depicted became the main subject of her contemporary poetry about the city daily life.
