BIOGRAPHIE

Roger SURAUD was born on October 31st 1938, in Saint Etienne, and died in June 2016. His grandfather and his father were sculptors. However he studied architecture and won the first prize of at the Beaux Arts School for two consecutive years. He started painting, and began to exhibit his paintings in various European exhibitions from 1964. Undisputed leader of the Philosopher’s painting School, Suraud is one of the great masters of his times. His work, which expresses the eternal question of the man in relation to his creation, is an invitation to dream and meditation.

Powerful and romantic paintings shows human history through artistic, cultural and spiritual dimensions. This artist rewrites civilization, in its glory and excess. The paintings of Suraud are in many private collections in France and abroad (Europe, Asia, USA, Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Canada …), exclusively represented by Marciano‘s galleries.
