BASTIEN BONHOMME

BIOGRAPHIE

Born in 1990, Bastien Bonhomme is an engineer graduated from Arts et Métiers. Precise and methodical, he held various responsible positions in industries such as watchmaking and automotive for several years. In 2018, feeling an irresistible need to engage in a manual activity, he naturally turned to sculpture. Indeed, from a young age, he was fascinated by the work of a friend’s father, who was a sculptor, leaving him with precious memories.

Following his intuition, he attended two life drawing classes at a Parisian school. A self-taught artist, he equipped himself with a block of clay and tools, allowing his creativity to flow freely. From his very first works, he was captivated by the material and the sensuality of clay. His first piece, “American Bison,” received immediate acclaim and marked the beginning of his artistic journey.

In 2019, Bastien Bonhomme took a necessary pause to travel and gather new experiences. Despite the confinement of 2020, he was afforded precious time to fully dedicate himself to his art. Day by day, he immersed himself in sculpture, discovering and asserting his artistic identity.

Animal representation quickly became a central theme for him. Since childhood, he has been deeply moved by the beauty and diversity of the animal world. He enjoys reinterpreting this fascinating universe through his imagination. With his professional experience and education, he masters 3D visualization, allowing him to easily envision his animal creations. His regular visits to the foundry also enable him to understand and control the complex process of bronze casting.

Bastien Bonhomme combines technical skill and meticulousness with abundant creativity. He enjoys working with textures and movements, while deeply considering the expressions of his animals, often bordering on human expression. This approach enhances the identification and emotions evoked by his works.

His sculptures, imbued with both power and delicacy, depth and innocence, meet with undeniable success. His journey reveals a true calling that he proudly embraces and claims. His promising potential ignites our curiosity with fervor.

Bastien Bonhomme embodies the fusion of technique and creativity in the service of emotion. His sculptures speak for themselves, profoundly touching those who behold them.
