JOY

BIOGRAPHIE

JOY is born in Martigues (France) in 1981. Since her childhood Joy has been attracted to art and creation. She studied fashion design. She saw her work win numerous awards and exhibited in various places. After a few years as a fashion designer and stylist, having sold her products to major retailers, she decided to devote herself to art, her true passion. Joy remodeled the tin can, product and universal symbol of our society, thus becoming a bronze sculpture, dressing it in bright colors and multiplying references to pop art and rock culture.

This is one of the most recognizable objects in the world. The tin can is present on every continent, in every house, in every hand, to all generations, to all social classes, to all religions, always with the same objective, drink it and empty it. But when it is empty and wrinkled, folded, it continues to exist. Joy invites us to look at this omnipresent object,  present everyday, from an artistic point of view. Between Pop Art and New Realism, Popy Can is a link between all because everyone can relate to it. The tin can becomes the POPY CAN, a terribly attractive and fun work of art.
