Benedetto Magnano San Lio is an Italian artist whose practice is rooted in an aesthetic and introspective exploration of emotional expression.
In 2009, he made the decisive choice to fully dedicate himself to his artistic career, developing a body of pictorial work characterized by a sensitive approach to texture and color. His encounter with Romanian painter Nelu Pascu marked a pivotal moment in his development, guiding him in refining his technique—particularly his mastery of palette knife painting—and expanding his visual language.
His work is grounded in an ideological conception of beauty, understood as a direct manifestation of emotion. Through his paintings, the artist encourages a state of inner detachment, where the mind is freed from material, psychological, religious, and political constraints, allowing for a more essential and universal perception.
Since 2015, his work has been exhibited internationally. He has participated in major art events such as Art under the Portici and the Affordable Art Fair. Between 2017 and 2018, his work was featured in several international art fairs, including exhibitions in New York during ArteExpo and in Miami at Red Dot during Art Basel 2018. In 2019, his paintings were also exhibited in Paris, Luxembourg, and Geneva.
His work is currently showcased within Marciano galleries.
