BERNARD CADENE

BIOGRAPHIE

Bernard Cadène, “I” of a thousand and one colors

The man who paints in music what his heart sings to him, considers that art is in itself and by itself Freedom. ” Long live freedom ! Especially mine! “, can we read prominently, tagged on the wall of his studio. His motto, like his seemingly light, carefree and provocative painting, hides under the varnish the depth of an infinite well. More than a real manifesto, Liberty determines the whole universe of Cadène: his painting, his lair as an artist and his life.

A graduate of the Beaux-Arts in Toulouse, his teachers keep the image of a student full of spirit and great freedom who, as soon as he could, escaped from his cage to do as he pleased. With his diploma of Drawing Professor of Fine Arts in his pocket, Cadène also tried his hand at teaching, but seized with the anguish of a career all mapped out, he deserted National Education on the second day, becoming strike out for life. A separate story, because yes, it is free like art Bernard!

His painting resembles him: free, whimsical, optimistic, often fiery and overflowing, sometimes explosive and violent. The color springs from the brush to come to life on the canvas, to give life to a story. His works are a symphony of which he is the conductor. There is no silence in Cadène’s canvases, there is only life… in all the forms it can take.
